Permalog + and Patroller II Noise Logging Systems
Palmer introduces its new Permalog+ systems for water leak detection. The new system is built on the Permalog and Aqualog series with further enhancement on functionality, usability and capability.
| |
For the “drive-by’ version, the system is embedded in a new PDA-based Bluetooth Patroller unit complete with integral Aqualog noiselogging mode, customizable programming and radio connectivity. Users now can enjoy an improved surveying speed, fast radio download of new data and also full noise logging Aqualog graphics.
The new Permalog+ systems can also be combined with PermaNet network radio, or SMS repeater to send data to a remote receiver, such as your personal computer. Immediate leak notifications can be sent directly to allow immediate actions to be taken.
Rapidlog- Acoustic noise logger
Rapidlog is designed to allow users to carry out fast surveys of distribution areas.
The system is bundled with 15 Permalog 3 logger units to transmit the recordings at the point of deployment. “Leak” or “no leak” conditions can be immediately identified to allow speedy follow-up.
MAST- Step Tester
The Mast system (Mobile Advanced Step Tester) is a portable radio based unit that allows monitoring of both water flow and pressure. Real time data can be acquired instantly which allows further testing to be done without unnecessary valve operations.
| |
Step testing is one of the most effective ways to locate a water leak in a large water distribution network. The large water network is divided into zones for better identifications. Sections of the network are eliminated and the position of the leak is narrowed to down to a single length of pipe.

DigiCALL-Laptop leak noise correlator
The DigiCALL (Digital Computer Assisted Leak Locator) is the latest PC based fully digital correlator designed to pinpoint leaks through a laptop PC. With the similarity to the technology as MicroCorr Digital, DigiCALL possesses greater advantage with the processing power of a laptop PC and greater storage capacity.
| |
The interface of DigiCALL is displayed on the laptop PC, thus allowing improved graphic presentation. Running under Windows environment, copy and paste options are installed to ease the compilation of reports and to record data.
MicroCALL- Leak noise correlator
With the combination of the power, graphics and ease of use of a PC based leak noise Correlator, MicroCALL+ features a high visibility colour display with advanced software including automatic 3-outstation functionality for improved pinpointing results and reduced dry holes. New radio outstations are available to give more compact packaging and portability.
| |
Both MicroCorr Correlators and Palmer’s DigiCALL technologies have helped to maximize its performance, ease of use and rugged compact packaging for daily deployment.
MicroCorr Digital- Leak noise correlator
Being the first fully digital system used to pinpoint leaks in buried pipelines, MicroCorr Digital leak noise correlator enables leakage staff to identify precisely where the leak is located along the pipe and thereby achieving better performance levels vis-à-vis previous analogue-based systems. This digital system converts noise to the digital format at the senor, preserving its quality and integrity.
MicroCorr Digital X- leak noise correlator
The MicroCorr Digital X leak noise correlator is based on the technology of MicroCorr Digital and yet its price is only that of an analogue leak noise correlator. It is easy to use, rugged but compact, with all components supplied in a single carry satchel.
| |
It is particularly useful for traditionally difficult leak detection situations, e.g. non-metallic pipelines like plastic. Its sensors ensure the integrity of signal by digitizing at the point of noise pick-up whilst digital radio transmission protects the quality of data for processing at the central unit.
MicroCorr 7- leak noise correlator
Based on the technology of MicroCorr correlators, MicroCorr 7 becomes easy-to-use and miniature. It is highly compact and portable and its PDA interface gives clear graphics and simple touch operation. Also it comprises high technology sensors, compact transmitter outstations, and an interface unit with bluetooth connection to PDA to optimize versatility.

Lmic -Ground Microphone
Lmic is ideal for general leak sounding operations as it is an easy to use, low cost, electronic listening stick and ground microphone combined. Its control unit is hand-held with a "trigger" operation and a volume/sensitivity rotary control. LED indicates operation and battery status. Lmic can be fitted with either a tripod foot (for use as a ground microphone) or probe rods (for sounding at fittings or in soft ground).
SoundSens "i" correlating noise loggers
Being more compact and lighter, SoundSens (i) is the advanced and upgraded technology of the original Soundsens. Among the features are: user can setup loggers and download data without using PC, quick recording setup for day or night recordings, custom recording setup, storage of multiple downloads of data, simultaneous download of data from all loggers and etc.
Tmic-Listening Stick
Being lightweight and portable, Tmic is a high performance and easily used electronic listening stick designed for general acoustic monitoring. It features a visual indication of leak noise levels and excellent sound reproduction through wireless, radio headphones.
| |
The sensor tip is placed on the fitting to be monitored, a simple push button operates the unit and immediately audio and visual indication of the presence of leak noise is heard. Its sensitivity levels are supreme.
Xmic- Ground microphone
With the latest technology in acoustic leak sounding systems based on MLP (Minimum Level Profiling) and a graphic display for histogram comparisons, Xmic is an effective leak confirmation and survey tool. When operator searches for a leak, Xmic records the minimum level of continuous leak noise transmitted at three-second intervals.
| |
This enables the operator to graphically compare leak noise levels and therefore gain greater confidence in pinpointing and confirming the leak position. The dynamic acoustic sensitivity meter shows the level of noise received and the easy-to-use filters are selected for bandpass, bandwidth or position on a sliding scale. Xmic is hence an incredibly advanced yet easily used Ground Microphone System.
Xmic Lite- Ground Microphone
Xmic Lite is a cost effective version of the original Xmic system. Its latest acoustic and amplification technology provides excellent sound quality whilst a range of features helps effective and accurate pinpointing on site.
